Efficient User-Level Multi-Path Utilization in RDMA Networks

RDMA has become one of the most prominent networking technologies in DCNs by providing high bandwidth and ultra-low latency, especially for data-intensive applications. An important challenge with is to exploit multi-path throughput reliability. Several studies have been proposed utilize networks, but they commonly require modification NICs, which makes it hard deploy them practice. In this paper, we propose a user-level (UL-MPRDMA) scheme, flow partitioned into sub-flows, transferred via multiple connections make full use paths DCNs. UL-MPRDMA quickly responds sudden network trouble congestion performing dynamic sub-flow scheduling, also effectively avoids performance degradation problem due limited memory NICs without intervention CPU. We implement on real test-bed commercial show that can achieve 30% higher link utilization than an existing transport technique.
